The Darker Side of Corporate

I am standing at the twilight of my career,

Wondering have I truly lived my life?

Dragging my feet to the corporate sweat shop,

As mundane as it could get,

Documenting every single act of foolishness,

Captivating it in an electronic mail,

And guarding the gates of corporate jail,

To secure one, from creatures created by the devil himself,

Ohh yes I belong to the same father,

Opportunist, calculative, manipulative, Secretive,

Deceitful, superficial, pretentious,

I feel like a stranger,

An analog signal caught in the digital word.

Covering up,

All the goof- ups,

Burning midnight oil,

In flickering flames and dusty smoky rings,

Waking up with a heavy head,

For another morning affair!

           

Free Bird

Sitting on the couch,

Sipping that cuppa tea,

I wonder how happy I would be?

I wonder can happiness be captivated?

Can happiness be tamed?

Oh ! I have failed a million times ,

Whom shall I blame?

The real fact is that,

We always peruse happiness,

It’s a state of mind…

A free bird,

One of its kind,

Always misunderstood for success,

And chasing it made my life a never ending rat race,

More miserable and a real mess,

Happiness is a state of mind,

It comes with inner peace,

If you are content you will get it with easy,

Being content is again misunderstood for lack of aspiration,

It’s the attachment to aspirations defeats us,

And the free-spirited bird flies away,

And we blame,

But did we understand the real game?
