Recession Baby

I have tried to empathize with those students who have chosen an expensive course like MBA & are having a tough time in USA, who have seen it all shattering of "The Big American Dream," jobs getting Banglored...some actually to relocate to Asia just to pay there Bill's & hefty fees

I am Baby of recession,

Baptized in fire of Depression,

My Big American dream was to make a mark on Wall Street,

Money, Power, Status & Fame,

But all was washed in a bloodbath on the Street,

The American Capitalist model had seen defeat,

It could barely stand on its feet,

Forget dream job,

Now Job is a dream,

At every point either I am overqualified,

Or out of the league,

I decide to sell Pizza at Papa Joe’s,

Baba says you MBA’s work for couple of months,

And never show,

I got no money to spend on a Rat, says Baba’s Dad,

Who runs the show ,

Thousands of dollars I have to repay,

Dorm was such a nice place to stay,

Millions of people homeless & only cars left to stay,

To feed billions who stay abroad,

I think of getting Banglore’ed or Beijing’ed,

Only way to pay my escalating bills,

I took a flight to Bombay,

Never knew what would be my fate,

I see a strange kind of happiness in pain & struggle,

No insurance, no social security,

Just hand to mouth survival,

Still people with bright smile & Luminescence,

That would scare the broad daylight out of top Executives,

Earning millions,

What is it that the people have?

That makes them smile,

Content, self-fulfillment, satisfaction,

It took me two years to find out,

In quest of the perishable,

We tend to lose imperishable,

And end up losing both!

Hope!

There is a deep valley beneath,

I am holding on to this thin rope,

I have still not given up the hope,

There is chance of life, there is a scope.

A strong force pulls up the string,

And my belief becomes stronger,

I get pulled up,

Million thoughts go through my head,

I am going to change,

Not gonna be the same old me any longer,

I make a promise to my life,

I will cherish every second of it.

I will be a changed man.

Only if I could survive, I know which I can

I dream of Life,

I dream of love,

I dream of us being happy ever after,

The image is nice and Sharpe in mind,

Beautiful and only one of its kind.

Suddenly the friction between rocks and rope being pulled increases,

As my heart pounds,

Is there a twist in the tale?

I ask myself where did I fail?

If I die and meet the depths of Valley

Whom should I blame?

And who will pay for the claim?

No it just would be insane

To play the buck passing game.

It could be the rope,

I could be the rock,

It could be me at the wrong place at the wrong time

But its not the place, rock or rope…

As I still have the hope!

I will emerge of this valley with some scars

And for sure shoot at some stars.

But I would be all alone,

What are starts, what are cars?

If you are not with me

Life is an empty Jar,

With all the materialistic things filled in it to the brim,

All this without you is as good as a sentence to hell,

For my Sin’s I have committed

My mind wonders,

And as I am just about to reach the surface,

The rope’s final stands get cut…

The rope breaks,

And I initiate my descend,

Now I see all memories flashing clearly.

Those places, those talks, long, long walks,

In few seconds I will close my eyes forever

And they might see you never

I fall, I fall with a big blue bang,

You might ask me what happened to you?

The freefall was not good enough for you?

And I to sink beneath the depths,

I just hope I don’t ever open my eyes.

But to my surprise I find you sitting next to me,

Comforting me and telling me “it’s just a nightmare!”,

And sweetheart there is nothing to get scared.

Clinging on hope,

Standing on a very thin rope,

Waiting for you till eternity,

That will be my only hope

To cling on to this thin rope!

Bravery!

Bravery, how do we define it, how do we measure or quantify it?
Bravery lies in accepting fears and moving ahead, and unwillingness to give up. It lies in walking in uncharted territories, believing in once convictions.
Meet Kiran Bedi the most celebrated and decorated COP, who was instrumental in the way inmates were treated in prison.
She is an epitome of bravery, and a source of true inspiration, unlike her predecessors she never gave, never gave up on the lowest soul, the human aspirations of inmates were recognized and results were extremely awarding, the rate of repeat customers (for lack of a better word) dropped drastically.
We as humans always tend to choose path of minimum resistance, and seek convenience, she could have easily opted for the same; but deep down she had strong belief to bring about a change.
This drive forced her to take radical steps and try and modify the existing system, she was the first one to start yoga, meditation and self awareness program for inmates in the famous Tihar Jail, known for its notorious criminals. This mission transformed many lives, not just those of inmates but there relatives.
This shows that freedom, and humane behavior can help create a radical change rather than brute force and dominance.
People tend to take an act of bravery and heroism as that which involves winning in a physical combat or outwitting the opponent by shear absence of fear.
Let’s accept the fact we all face fear and we all fight it, and bravery can’t be just that ,it involves taking actions that are firm , actions against the odds, against disbelief of others , it also means believing in once convictions.
Act of Bravery to garner popularity can’t be termed as one, as it is not just about doing the dare.
I belong to the Island city of Mumbai, and I was unfortunate to be in Mumbai, during the 7/11 Terror attack, after the blast at Jogeshwari, I saw a young girl of 15-16 years of age who tried to help an unconscious elderly lady, the girl was drenched in blood, she should have been scared and shocked by the scene, but she tried to console at least 10-15 ladies who were victims of the attack. What helped her in such act, she also never knew when asked by the media personnel.
Courage lies deep within all of us , courage drives us to perform an act of bravery, which helps transform a life or many lives.

D E S T I N Y . . . . .

Destiny oh! Destiny what wicked games you play,
You make me feel like czar one day,
The next day I am a beggar.

You propel me up high in the sky,
The next moment I fall flat on the ground!
I never feel I am safe and sound.
Destiny oh! Destiny what wicked games you play,

Sometimes I wish to defy you.
But really can I deny you?
You show me light you show me life,
Give me courage, bring back hope,
Still why adversities have their scope,

Dose happiness lie in accepting you or expecting you?

Once a wise man said, ” your decisions decide your destiny!”
Is it true?
But what I sow is never what I reap!

I guess its me who has to change your course!,
Tell me is their any alternative resource?

It’s easy it’s easy to blame you
Is easy to curse you,
Buts its easier to work hard and reframe you!
I would fight and fight till everything is right.

I believe you exits,
But depending n you to shape me,
Is like trying to find coast in a thick mist,

Destiny oh! Destiny
You keep playing your games,
And I will play mine!
Let’s see who wins,
Destiny or one who is destined to win!
