Innocent Victim

How Equations with life Erode relationships!,

You tend to lose more in quest of few nickel and dime which help buy you your bread!...

Cheese and Butter are Luxury!,

Lost a lot more than hair in last one year,

Few Acts of innocent foolishness have haunted me!...

And i pay for crimes not committed..

Better be a Fox and not a Dog

Calender Booked !

My time is precious,

Every second counts,

Productivity is the priority,

Hours are long, for days I haven't seen the Sunset,

Delegating my task's,

Wearing an efficient mask,

Lunches are for chimps,

I just have Burger and chips,

In my cabin on my desk,

Power nap is just a drag,

Time is running out ,

I push my self for the corner cabin,

Pressing palms and counting beans,

Till I hit the road block,

Life has just fast forwarded the clock,

Doc pops a pill and says , "Its the silent killer",

I scream in an argument, " Type -II is not life threatening!",

To which i get a calm reply,

"Yeah only if you have one! "

Truth about faliure

Failure be it of any kind teaches you lesson, given the fact you are Man enough to digest it, understand it, accept it, work on it! ... and cherish the fruits it bears in future!

Confessions of a Private Banker

Ohh Yes i make a Nickel when you give me a dollar,

And my job is to make thousands  of dollars for my Lord,

The thirst of beast in insatiable,

Gulped  by greed,

And blinded by fear,

I find ways to make a dime more,

Ways and means do they really matter?

If you own a few mills, a couple of hundred thou'z do they  matter?

Grinding my way up,

They call me a survivor,

Churning in dollars for my Lord!,

Burning a hole in my Soul,

Blaming it on my Job role,

Feels nothing less than a gangster,

Involved in legal robbery of money!

Search

I start for work early,
I try to stay in late,
Confrontation with mirror in itself throws a million questions,
Have I lost my charm?
Are the circles getting darker by the day,
Forget a second look,
Now I wonder, even if I get noticed,

After dinner I open the flap of miniature idiot box,
Run through matrimony site,
In search of the one!
Aspirations, expectations and time,
Don't quite fit in the same bowl of reality,

Peer pressure is a funny bunny,
You don't quite enjoy anything with joy,
And life is filled to brim with emptiness,

In my world which is falling apart,
You seem to be bring in baton of hope,
Suddenly life has meaning,
And i feel time travel is not a myth,

But then all of a sudden just like a desert storm,
All withers away,
You are gone!
And search is on...

Redemption

In need to redeem myself,
In a need to fly,
Feel free and alive
I step on Gas,
I don't know where this road is taking me,
Cool breeze , blows past the windshield,
Dido on the juke,
Oops forgot my berry on the couch,
It was  deliberate or fluke,
Monday mornings,
Fake greetings, with pretentious smiles,
I left all that behind,
The chill in the air,
Winds blowing through my hair,
You need this redemption
From  rest everything that's ....unreal

Rockstar's delight , Banker's envy!

I bag a $250 mn deal for the bank,

My bosses called me the poster boy and rockstar in making !

I need a new look to suite my personality!

I hopped on to my car and drove to the most
expensive saloon, 1 hr of wait and $150 later
I get a session with Mr B,

Italian in accent,Brit in hospitality, and as expensive as an American can get,

Snap snap runs the sissior, Cutting new and old strands,

I throw my head and relax, With clear instructions to Mr. B, 'Transform me into a Rockstar!',

Ohh the feeling is nice, its cozy and relaxing!, I ease into the chair,

the chirpy sound of sissors is replaced by a rumbling roar, I asked Mr B, 'what is that all about?',

To my amusment he replied,'Sir we have gone hi~tech!', I closed my eyes with a smile on my face with sense of hapiness on going hi~tech!,

'Wallah ! Its done ! Its fabulous , its fantabulous he screamed !

' I was awestuck by his excitment in his voice and opened my eyes to see a stranger in the mirror, Bald with a gottee and pony,

I screamed that's not how bankers look this is an outrage ! this is cheating !

Mr B politely replied, 'Sir, You wanted rockstar we gave one, crisp clean and killer!

That day I swiped the plastic money to pay for Mr. B's creativity !

Sunday Delight

It was a winter of 1929,

I drag my feet with heartless steps,

Just to put some smiles across at a cost of a small pinch on my wallet,

An ice cream treat at moshes weighs in pure gold,

If you slog for few dimes,

And lucky enough to have a day Job,

I order the cheapest cream , screaming ruthlessly its 'my favourite. flavour',

I digg deep in my waistcoat pockets, pulled out a shiney nickel, a weeks pay,

Picked up the icecream bucket and move out of the shop,

My eyes stop at a sight ,A small little girl as old as my daughter,

With a her sunken deep blue eyes, frail and pale skin, with a squeky voice she broke, 'food for hungry Mr.,haven't had no bread since Monday!'

The november frost hit me hard, shiver went through my spine,

I digged deep in my pocket, to search for a dime,

I had shelled the last penny for the delightyful Sunday cream,

I just lowered the bucket stroked her frosty blonde hair,

'Thank you Mr. I am Rochelle!', that weekend my family just had soup and bread for supper!,

With a content of saving a life putting a smile !

Pay back time

My parents are my star,

Imagining my life without them is so bizzare,

They sacrificed their happiness, pride, freedom and life,

Just to see that glow and my facial smile,

I love them for what they did for their lil kid,

Now that I am strong,

Wish to bring back the smile,

Its payback time time sport !

SCAMMED - Confessions of a Confused Accountant

Hitesh, a common man and an auditor, is engrossed in his underpaid 9 to10 job, slogging his way, burning  the night oil only to give sheen to careers of his supervisors & partners. One day, he stumbles upon an opportunity which makes him an overnight rock star of corporate India. He tastes success and very soon gets addicted to it.

However, success comes with a price-tag, the corner cabin and the chair always had their own sets of thorns. Hitesh, in this journey, meets various people - some sting him on his path of glory, some propel him up, some try to eat into his pie of success, and few help him when the world stops believing in him.

An auditor, who not so long ago inspected the cooked books of an organization and voiced the fishy observations to the management, become’s the CEO of one of the group companies. Later, he is accused to be the commander-in-chief of a scam - a scam that changes his life forever.

The book "Confessions of a Confused Accountant" does make a reader empathize with Hitesh at several incidences. The story also unfolds in a way that it keeps the curiosity quotient up. A fast paced story with limited characters, the book is a quick read over the weekend or a leisurely evening. The book is also fairly conclusive in its way of giving a message of "fighting one's own battle and trusting very few".

The book is the story of an average, hard working professional, his brave fight to rise above the average, and showcases the triumph of friendship and truth in the end.

" A story which acts like a glue stick, and forces you not to keep the book down". The book, if picked up on a weekend, will ensure that you don't miss the IPL

Princess without Silver Spoon

Click click,

The Glitterati & Gifts

Dangles & Tiara,

Yummy deserts & Cuppie cakes,

Would fill her dinner plate,

Lingering in lap of luxury,

Daddy’s darling,

Her wish was world command,

Still she would reprimand, “Need World of my own!”,

She stepped on the journey to create one,

Make a name,

Without her existing fame,

It wasn’t easy,

Treacherous & tough,

 Scorching Sun, & relentless world.

Provoked her to give up,

But she was a tough cookie to crumble,

Buckled under pressure,

To shine bright in her own colors,

She fought day in & out, to carve a niche,

Soon hard work paid off, and world was at her feet,

She truly felt like a princess who won her kingdom & hearts of people around,

Now she embarks upon a new conquest,

To find someone who could rule her little kingdom.

Wishing her all the best!

PS:- This poem is dedicated to my friend Saifa who servers ( for lack of a better word) her last day at Citi tomorrow.

Life without Blackberry

Fingers run faster than Jordan,

Picking up thoughts,

Punching them on,

Oh love you my berry,

My whereabouts, my thoughts,

Connected to globe,

Disconnected from myself,

Captivating the world,

Uploading them on a virtual one,

Hello & Hi, now is on my fingertips,

One fear, what if battery dies out?

45 min travel can be nightmarish in a tube,

How did we survive the 90’s when your ancestors were not born?

A desperate search for coins to dial a friend,

I remember typing without assistance,

I remember when I met friends face to face,

And books were meant for reading,

Never got a SOS mail at 12:00 am,

I remember I use to play ball every evening,

Now I hop on to some app, with mini gaming console,

Oh my berry!

Life without you is really scary,

Thanks for ,making my life nice & easy!

Playing Ball in Flood lights of Fame

Fame is flood of Limelight,
If you don’t know how to play it,

You often end up thrown back into dark gloomy lanes,

From where it all began,

It blinds you if you try to bask in its glory,

It shall cast a dark shadow,

Blinded by it, you won’t be able to play ball,

After faulting & floundering,

I’ve learnt to play with it pal,

The secret is you play as it is your last match,

No fear, no pain, no heaviness of expectation,

Having no burden of paper glories,

Forget you must the success stories,

One aim, one goal, one ambition,

To touch the Perfection!

.

Two Drops of Rain in Love

Two Droplets of Rain,

Were seen hanging on to high tension cable,

I was afraid, if the cable were to be electrocuted,

I was scared for them?

But they were engrossed into each other,

So absorbed into each other,

As if there was no tomorrow,

As if the rest of the world didn’t exist,

No fear of death, no fear of consequences,

Only an urge to unite,

They come close,

Sparks ignite,

The entire Universe illuminates,

With a crackling grunt,

They become one,

And start their joy ride,

They hit a pink rosebud,

Multiplying into hundred droplets,

Waiting for their turn to bloom!

Pain

Pain never lasts too long,

Just like a leaf fallen from a branch of tree,

It loses its colour too soon,

How long the pain of not being part of the branch shall last?

When the sheen of the flame is lost,

It shall be at its brightest,

Shall flicker a bit,

And then with one gasp of smoke,

All pain shall go away,

The pain always last for a short span,

Not till eternity.

Writer's Block, Publisher's Delight

As I try to squeeze words of my pen,
The alphabets won’t come out,
Gripped with a fear,
Fear of being lost in an alien word,
I can not scribble I can not scribble,
A young lady much elder to me,
Ask’s  for a bookmark to be signed,
I freeze at her excitement and expectation,
Deep within me I heard a scream,
“Its not me! It’s not me”,
I jumped on to next flight to Himalayas,
Publisher’s villa,
In search for tranquility & calm,
So I could write the next best seller,
Switching off the buzz-machine,
But all in vain,
Those 7 days drove me insane,
On my way back home,
Baggage got exchanged,
Next thing I remember,
Hundreds of shutter boxes, blinking eyelids,
Lawyers pressing charges of possession of narcotics,
All became numb,
Cold, shivery, dark cell, a real hell,
Eureka it Struck me then,
Now what you see are
Episode’s of Prison Break!

Lie

Easy to execute,

Difficult to hide,

Impossible to sleep with,

Grips your neck like a serpent wrapped as a Neck tie,

Its a Lie ... Its a Lie.... Its a Lie...

The Darker Side of Corporate

I am standing at the twilight of my career,

Wondering have I truly lived my life?

Dragging my feet to the corporate sweat shop,

As mundane as it could get,

Documenting every single act of foolishness,

Captivating it in an electronic mail,

And guarding the gates of corporate jail,

To secure one, from creatures created by the devil himself,

Ohh yes I belong to the same father,

Opportunist, calculative, manipulative, Secretive,

Deceitful, superficial, pretentious,

I feel like a stranger,

An analog signal caught in the digital word.

Covering up,

All the goof- ups,

Burning midnight oil,

In flickering flames and dusty smoky rings,

Waking up with a heavy head,

For another morning affair!

Free Bird

Sitting on the couch,
Sipping that cuppa tea,
I wonder how happy I would be?
I wonder can happiness be captivated?
Can happiness be tamed?
Oh ! I have failed a million times ,
Whom shall I blame?
The real fact is that,
We always peruse happiness,
It’s a state of mind…
A free bird,
One of its kind,
Always misunderstood for success,
And chasing it made my life a never ending rat race,
More miserable and a real mess,
Happiness is a state of mind,
It comes with inner peace,
If you are content you will get it with easy,
Being content is again misunderstood for lack of aspiration,
It’s the attachment to aspirations defeats us,
And the free-spirited bird flies away,
And we blame,
But did we understand the real game?

Sideeffects Of Recession

I was transferred by my employer to a remote location, it was recession,

So there was no scope for alternate vocation,

I bit the bullet and drove my old red Corvett,

I was sure my new assignment would be straight jacket,

It was like sucking air through tooth cavity,

you suck despite of the pain,

Ohh i hate this city.... Hate its never ending rain.....

I sit on my cranky corner chair,

the dripping droplets from the vibrating AC,

wants me to pull my hair, my super pessimisim had killed all the novelty in the air,

Suddenly there appears an angle sitting adjacent to my cranky chair,

Deep brown hazel eyes, which would make any commited man to rattle lies,

Incandacent soft tanned skin, just like golden sand wrapped in Muslin,

Lips like cuppie cake dipped in melted chocolate,

Dazzling curls dangling down her shoulders,

She was discussing financial and ratios with co-bankers,

It felt like water flowing through a rocky river bed,

That moment i decided i am gonna ask out this mermaid,

Our friendship grew.... Suddenly the shady office felt cozy and new,

I mustered some courage, spent a sixty thousand Rs on a sparkling necklace,

We met at Christies for dinner date, i wonered why she invited our Country head,

Moments later she introduced him as her fiancee,

My only concern was the resale value of the necklace and the credit card bill,

As a banker concepts like valuations and return on investment are deep rooted within us,

She was my motivation to survive in that hostile location,

Now that alice is gone......i packed my bags...... Was about to wrapup ....

Then i saw a sharpe looking brunette in glasses in our legal dept,

I checked the necklace in my bag...

My romance with this city and shady office continues.....
